INSECURITY: National Assembly is no longer safe – says REPS

Following the manner with which gunmen had attacked both military and police facilities in Abuja and Jaji few days ago, killing soldiers, policemen and civilians alike, members of the House of Representatives, yesterday, have declared the National Assembly complex unsafe.
This sudden alarm was brought forth by the lawmakers due to the worsening security situation in the country.
The lawmakers in a motion of urgent national importance said insecurity had reached a level where no security facility was safe again.
Hon Abubakar Momoh who led the debate said the Tuesday robbery in Auchi, Edo State which claimed the lives of three soldiers, some policemen and civilians, clearly showed that insecurity in the country was getting out of hand.
And i am wondering, if the Almighty "NATIONAL ASSEMBLY" isn't safe then where else is safe???

FEC approves N2.2billion 150-seater banquet hall for Aso Rock Villa

The federal government of Nigeria is planning on  dishing out over two billion Naira for a 150-seater banquet hall. Not a 5, 000-seater hall sef, just 150 seats! Does that make sense to you guys?

Meanwhile, there's an existing banquet hall in the Villa o. This one is just to waste money and share the remaining.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Muhammed, said the proposed hall, which will be constructed by Julius Berger, will have walk ways, security post, hall conveniences, technical room and press briefing room. For N2.2bn?
Isn't there a way civil societies in Nigeria can stop all these unnecessarily spending by taking the federal government to court? Isn't there a way, we as citizens, can check our government?
