Olu Falae Escapes Police Bullet On Journey To Ooni’s Palace

Afenifere chieftain and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Olu Falae, narrowly escaped bullets from policemen on Tuesday while traveling to Ile Ife, in Osun State to pay homage to the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
He was traveling to join other Afenifere members for a meeting with the Ooni, when the policemen who were escorting a bullion van shot at his car at Ile-Oluji junction.
“I was first kidnapped, now they want to kill me,” Mr. Falae said, as he expressed amazement at repeated attempts on his life.

Breaking News:Ex-Governor Akpabio Named In N310m Vehicle Scam Involving Jide Omokore And Secondus

Forrmer Governor of  Akwa Ibom State, Goodwill Akpabio has been named as the central sure in the vehicle scam that led to the detention of Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Prince Uche Secondus.
Secondus remains in detention struggling to make bail after agents of the People’s Democratic Party found out that a portion of oil proceeds was used to buy 23 luxury vehicles for party leaders and officials including a former junior minister of defense, Musiliu Obanikoro.
SaharaReporters learnt that former Governor Akpabio, now a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria colluded with Mr. Jide Omokore to divert proceeds of funds meant for the federal government into a slush fund that was used to purchase high-end luxury cars for party leaders. Mr. Secondus shared the vehicles to top PDP leaders and reportedly sold some to an auto retailer in Abuja.

BOKO HARAM KINGPIN ARRESTED IN BORNO STATE

 A man who was cruelly called 'mushroom head' because of the large growths on his face hopes to have them permanently removed in time for his wedding day.
Keenan Patton, 32, has suffered with keloids – scars that don't stop growing and in his case develop a lumpy appearance - since he was a teenager.
The fleshy growths started after a bout of chicken pox when he was 11 and got worse as he aged. 
Mr Patton, of Chicago, has previously undergone 28 hours of surgery to remove the tissue.
But the surgery proved ineffective and the keloids grew back larger.

Hello Lagos: Bus Explosion Kills Three Persons.

Tragedy struck at Isolo, Lagos mainland, on Tuesday morning after a bus loaded with several 50 litre kegs of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exploded, killing three people.
The incident, which occurred at Musiratu Lasisi Street at about 4:30am, was reportedly caused by a brake failure.According to eyewitnesses, the bus was coming from Ikorodu, but had a brake failure along James Oni Street, which made it to nosedive into nearby Musiratu Lasisi Street.
 

The four- passenger bus, according to eyewitnesses, rammed into a truck parked in front of a bakery and exploded on impact.

EXCLUSIVE: Abducted Bayelsa girl speaks out, wants to remain in Kano



A teenager, who was kidnapped from Bayelsa State to Kano, Ese Oruru, said on Monday she was not interested in reuniting with her family, claiming she was not abducted from her home. In an exclusive audio recording obtained by PREMIUM TIMES on Monday, the girl also said she came to Kano to convert to Islam.
A human rights lawyer, Huwaila Mohammed, who was given access to the girl at the Zonal Police Headquarters in Kano, said upon interrogation, she understood the girl was never forced to convert to Islam. I was there to protect her rights,” Ms. Mohammed said. “When I approached her initially, she refused to talk to me. Later she opened up to me.
