Guys I have got good news for you and I really don’t know
how you would embrace it but news have it that Male birth control could be here
by 2017 - but
will anyone take it?
It is called Vasalgel,
it is a male birth control, and reports have it that it could be available to
the public by 2017 in the form of an injection. But would any man talk less of Nigerian
men have it - and would women really be able to hand over that responsibility
of taking birth control pills?

In that light of us as ladies, envisaging better man
that would stand up to their responsibilities…we have found a recent report dated 12th
sept 2014, so you know it’s a current report we are talking about…
At long last, it looks like male birth control is
finally coming. Only, contrary to popular expectations, it’s not a male pill
(which is still being developed), but an injection called Vasalgel.
Vasalgel, is a brainwork
of the Parsemus Foundation, its a
non-hormonal gel that's injected just above the testicles and It works by
temporarily blocking sperm from flowing through the tubes, just like a
vasectomy. The only difference here with this one is that This one is
reversible.
So far, it's only been tested on baboons and
rabbits and the results have been positive and it looks like they might be
similar when the injection is tested on humans next year.
It means we could have a new birth control option
in 2017: just for men and women can just relax and not worry because men will
be the one taking the birth control pills but the only difference with men is
the way they take it…
For women, we swallow the pills, right? But men
will have to inject such a delicate place like their testicles with the pill
and its just a 20min procedure.
But will it actually work? And I don’t mean scientifically
– I mean socially. Will we ever get to a point where women, who have borne the
contraceptive burden for decades, trust men to take control? And will men even
want to?
If you ask me how
I feel about this as a single lady, I am skeptical leaving the whole
responsibility to the men because men are probably more likely to
lie about that to girls on the pill, just so that we don't have to use condoms.
You cant verify that he’s truly taken his injection, so you necessarily cant
depend on it especially when sex wasn’t something you planned on having at that
moment and maybe its raining heavily and its getting late but you are trapped
at his place,…!
And secondly this gives men
absolute control over the woman which is a good or bad thing
because Men can now say, "We are not having any more babies, regardless of
what the wife wants.
So that might be one of the
challenges…
As a choice it’s been very unfair
on women really, “In stable couples, where they share their bodies
together, why shouldn’t they also share any problems, or risks
involved, by six
months of the man taking contraception, then six months of the woman?”
At the moment there are 15 types of contraception for women and none for men, bar condoms. And, regardless of what we
might think, some men are keen for this to change.
